Applications Open for the 2026/27 CREEO NBRC Candidate Support Program (CSP) - Cohort 4

Welcome to the UC Berkeley National Board Resource Center (NBRC)!

We're excited to announce that the CREEO NBRC Candidate Support Program (CSP) is accepting application for Cohort 4, offering wraparound, comprehensive support for educators throughout their National Board Certification (NBC) journey.

New for 2026–27 New CSP Candidates

The Candidate Support Program is offered in partnership with UC Berkeley Extension (UNEX). Candidates who successfully complete the program requirements will have the opportunity to earn 3 UC Berkeley Extension professional development in Education credits per year, for a total of 6 credits over the two-year program period.

With this partnership with UNEX, we are transitioning into a cohort model, new candidates will be taking Component 1 and 3; and 2 and 4 next year.

Program Benefits

  • Community of Practice – Learn, grow, and connect with fellow candidates.
  • NBCT Facilitators – Guidance from experienced National Board Certified Teachers.
  • Professional Development (PD) – Interactive workshops and learning experiences.
  • Mentorship – Personalized coaching throughout your certification journey.
  • Leadership Supports – Resources to strengthen school-and-district-based support.
  • Wraparound Support – Comprehensive support every step of the way.
  • PD Units – Earn 6 UNEX professional development credits 3 per year (6 total).

Program Fees

  • New CSP Applicants: $3,000 for two years of candidate support. ($1500 per year, $750 per component).
  • Returning CREEO–NBRC CSP Candidates (2026–27 Only): $500 returning candidate fee support fee.
  • Grants & Financial Assistance: A variety of grants are available to fully cover these costs. We also encourage you to check with your school district to learn about additional funding that may be available.
