Candidate Support Program (CSP)

The NBRC’s signature program is the Candidate Support Program (CSP), which provides comprehensive support to participants throughout their National Board Certification (NBC) candidacy.

CSP Key Offerings Include:

  • Community of Practice: A supportive community for NBC candidate teachers focused on personal and professional growth.

  • NBCT Facilitators: National Board-Certified Teachers (NBCTs) are hired to design and lead workshops, reading/writing retreats, and weekly coaching sessions.

  • Professional Development: Workshops, retreats, and coaching sessions are designed and delivered to guide candidates through the four NBC components.

  • Mentorship: Coaching and mentoring are provided throughout the NBC process by NBCT facilitators and CREEO staff.

  • CA Subsidy Clinics: Clinics are designed and facilitated to help candidates from high-priority schools apply for California's Subsidy Program (in partnership with the21CSLA Center).

  • Principal Support Clinics: Clinics are developed to assist principals in creating supportive environments for NBC teacher candidates.

  • Application Assistance: Guidance is provided to help candidates complete CA NBPTS Certification and Subsidy Program applications.
