Be part of a growing community of dedicated educators committed to earning National Board Certification (NBC) with robust, wraparound support throughout your journey.

  • Valued at $3,500, this program is currently offered at no cost to OUSD educators.

About National Board Certification

NBC is recognized as the “gold standard” in teacher certification. Candidates demonstrate excellence by submitting three evidence-based portfolios and passing a rigorous computer-based assessment—showcasing their knowledge of content, students, data, and teaching practice.

Why Join?

Eligible educators working in high-priority schools may receive:

  • $25,000 stipend over five years from the California Department of Education
  • $1,000 annual stipend from OUSD (or your district, if applicable) after certification
  • $2,500 California State Subsidy to offset NBC fees
