CREEO: Proud Core Partner of CEDAN
The Center for Research on Expanding Educational Opportunity (CREEO) at UC Berkeley is honored to serve as a Core Partner of the California Educator Diversity Action Network (CEDAN). As one of 11 Core Partner organizations, we collaborate with educators, advocates, and community leaders across the state to strengthen and sustain a diverse educator workforce.
About CEDAN
CEDAN is a cross-sector coalition of educators, students, families, researchers, and policy influencers working together to ensure that every student in California has access to well-supported, highly skilled, and diverse educators. The Network emerged in 2023 from a powerful, educator-led movement focused on more than filling vacancies — a movement committed to fulfilling the promise of excellent, equitable education for all.
Today, CEDAN includes more than 50 Network Members united by a shared mission:To elevate and sustain the teaching profession so that diverse educators can thrive, lead, and shape the future of public education.
CEDAN's North Star
A teaching profession in California where diverse educators are:
- Reflective of the communities they serve
- Recruited, retained, and supported to grow into leadership
- Working in humane, well-resourced, and well-compensated roles
- Trusted and empowered to positively impact students, families, and communities
This transformation relies on community engagement, actionable research, and innovation — all core to CREEO’s mission.
CREEO's Commitment
As a Core Partner, CREEO contributes research-to-practice leadership, policy expertise, and a deep commitment to educator well-being and retention. We believe that:
When diverse educators thrive, students and communities thrive.
We are proud to take action alongside our CEDAN partners to ensure that California delivers on this promise.
