Second Annual National Board Resource Center (NBRC) at UC Berkeley Kickoff

Our second annual National Board Resource Center (NBRC) at UC Berkeley Kick-off  on September 21, 2024 was an energizing success!

National Board Certification is one of the key initiatives at the Center for Research on Expanding Educational Opportunity (CREEO). This project collectively transforms the teaching and learning experience, supports teachers seeking professional development and National Board Certification, the “gold standard” in teacher certification, and serves  historically resilient and marginalized communities.

As we kick off on this National Board Certification journey with 75 Bay Area educators, we want to thank our community.

A special thank you to National Board Professional Teaching Standards President and CEO Peggy Brookins, NBCT, and our Co-Sponsors at the California Black Education Initiative (CBEI), Director Bootsie Battle-Holt, NBCT,  and Manager Dr. Mora Pressley. In addition, we want to thank UC Berkeley School of Education Dean Dr. Michelle Young, Cheryl Cotton, California Department of Education Deputy Superintendent, Tara Gard, Chief Talent Officer, Oakland Unified School District (OUSD), Natalie Tran, NBCT, Oakland Education Association, Soraya Sablo-Sutton, Principal Leadership Institute, and Lindsey Fuller, Executive Director, The Teaching Well, North Starr Media, and Team CREEO! We could not have done this without all of you.

We especially want to thank Dr. José Vilson, PhD, NBCT for his inspirational keynote. It was timely, profound, and powerful. We are certain these words will continue to ring true in the hearts of our candidates as they pursue NBC.

Stay tuned for our video to learn more about the NBRC community!
