Tammie Adams was originally certified in Early Childhood Generalist in 2003 and has continuously worked to maintain certification in 2013 and 2023. She really enjoys supporting teachers through their National Board journey as they reflect on their practice and identify ways to differentiate instruction that supports student growth.
Tammie has just completed her 28th year working in Oakland Unified School District and is entering her 7th year as Principal of Horace Mann Elementary School. Throughout her tenure in Oakland, she has worked as a Kinder, First and Second grade teacher, a site Literacy Coach and a Central Elementary Literacy Specialist.
Tammie is married to John Adams and the proud mother of three adult children and the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family, and reading.
